As summer led to long lines and hot days at the park, it took me longer than expected to gt onto the update of the beloved ride, Soarin Over California in California Adventure, which is now Soarin Over the World. As the new name states, riders no longer glide over the Golden State, but take an adventure around the world! Soarin has always been one of my favorite rides, as it provides air conditioning and a relaxing adventure, so I kneew I would at least get that from the ride. The places chosen are somewhat expected, like the Eiffel Tower and Great Wall of China, but it nice that the video quality is much higher than the original ride.  There is a fast pass available which can be well worth getting, as lines can be long with riders wanting to try out the new ride.  Overall, it is nice to see Disney finally update this ride, but part of me wishes they had updated the scenes with California areas, as the ride is in California Adventure!  Check it out ...

Disneyland's long-shuttered Submarine Voyage ride has finally reopened! This time, the theme features characters from the Pixar animated film, "Finding Nemo." Board the subs and cruise below the surface of Disneyland's Tomorrowland Lagoon while watching the adventures of Nemo, Marlin, Dory and others. The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage features brand new technology. Along with looking at animatronic sea life through the portholes, visitors to Disneyland will view images projected. Because there will be a space in between the effects box and the port hole, it will appear as though the characters from Finding Nemo are actually swimming in the water right outside your submarine! The lines are calm on weekdays and late nights, around 11 PM, reaching from 75 minutes to 60 minutes. The subs load/ unload slowly, yet it is worth the wait. “Dear Foolish Mortals, You are hereby invited to a spirited tour via "buggy" of the home and estate of a prosperous yet departed sea captain whose elegant 19th-century mansion in the New Orleans Square was once the setting for some of the most prominent social gatherings this side of the Mississippi.” One of Disneyland’s top 10 rides (as voted in the LA Times), the Haunted Mansion fun begins even before stepping into your buggy. If you have to wait in the queue pay special attention to the tombstones, as they can be very entertaining. Once you actually get into the house, guests gather into a room, where you soon realize that there are no windows and no doors, and the famous “ghost speech” is given. As with most Disney rides, the attention to detail is phenomenal! Do not rush to get to the ride itself, take not of the changing pictures and special statues in the hallway. Ahoy Matey! Get on board and take a voyage through the Caribbean, witnessing pirates pillage and plunder. A pirate ride would not be complete without cannons firing and a good tune like “Yo ho, a Pirates Life for Me”. The beginning of the ride does have a decent drop as leaving the bayou, but otherwise its smooth and gentle sailing the rest of the ride. This is one of the few rides that had a movie based upon it, not the other way around. To add to the fun, character Jack Sparrow, Barbossa and Blackbeard have been added to the attraction. The movie explains that at night the pirates are cursed and turn into skeletons, so decide for yourself if the skeletons on the ride are cursed or not. One of the most exciting rides at Disneyland is based from the popular movies Indiana Jones!  Opening in 1995, after being under construction for 7 years and costing Disney about $100 million! The ride can be found between Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Carrabin. Since it is a crowd pleaser, the line can get very long, so I highly recommend getting FASTPASS and coming back to the ride later in the afternoon when you can avoid the line. Single rider passes and parent swap passes are also available, just ask the Cast Member at the front. The ride “takes place” in the Forbidden Temple where famous archeologist, Indiana jones, helps guide your’ ride, making sure you make it to the end. Visitors MUST NOT look into the eyes of the temple's idol, Mara, or an ancient curse will befall them. The ride moves through foreboding caverns adorned with flickering lights, mysterious wall etchings, ominous spikes, even-more ominous skeletons, and other diversions! On th...

As you walk past Haunted Past it is hard to miss the sounds of screams and water splashing from Splash Mountain! This flume takes guests through more than half a mile through caves, swamps, and backwoods to return Br’er Rabbit safe and sound to his home. Obviously the biggest feature that stands out on this ride is the 52- foot plunge at the end of the ride, getting passengers wet, possibly drenched. Generally, the front seat gets the most wet, but all seats can expect to get at least a little wet at some point throughout the ride. Passengers ride aboard six-to-seven-seater logs with six single-file seats. The last seat in each log is larger and allows room for larger guests or an adult and a small child, thus allowing the capacity to be seven in each log.  The ride is filled with over 100 audio-animatronic characters singing catchy tunes, most famous “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah”.
