Ride Profile: Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters!


Take a trip into “infinity and beyond” as you fight against Zurg and stop his army! This ride is perfect for all ages, especially little ones as it keeps them (and yourself) entertained during the attraction. Guests board a XP-40 star cruiser with 360 capabilities with your control of a joystick.

 Score is kept as you blast various “Z” targets, but how do you get the most points possible? Even though just pulling the trigger will get you some points (so your child cannot walk away with no points), there are ways to aim more carefully for a better score, so know your targets.

Circle Targets = 100 points
Square Targets = 1,000 points
Diamond Targets = 5,000 points
Triangle Targets = 10,000 points

In addition, look for targets that are lighted, they are worth an additional bonus! Unlike in Toy Story Mania, if your car stops, your points don’t, so use that time to blast away!

At the end of the ride, astro blasting patrons will receive a ranking given by Star Command; lowest being Space Cadet but highest being Galactic Hero!

This ride no longer has a fastpass system, however the cars are on a continuous track so the line moves quickly. Plus, once you get inside, there are some interactive features that make the wait more enjoyable.

Looking for hidden Mickeys? Don’t move too quickly through the cue line! Look at the world maps that line the walls and a silhouette of Mickey’s profile can be found!

World of Color

One of my absolute favorite things to view is World of Color. A combination of water, pyrotechnics and a lot of magic brings the Paradise Lagoon in California Adventure to life every evening! More than 1,000 water jets form screens and shapes that animations are projected onto. Although I have seen the show dozens of times, it never gets old, especially because as new Disney movies come out, they are incorporated into the show. If visiting both parks (or just DCA), be sure to get a fatspass for World of Color. The machines are right outside Grizzly Rapids and will have one of four colors (red, yellow, green, and blue), which is your viewing area during the show. Be sure to line up in your  specific area as soon as your fastpass tells you you can. Ride Profile: Indiana Jones

One of the most exciting rides at Disneyland is based from the popular movies Indiana Jones!  Opening in 1995, after being under construction for 7 years and costing Disney about $100 million! The ride can be found between Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Carrabin. Since it is a crowd pleaser, the line can get very long, so I highly recommend getting FASTPASS and coming back to the ride later in the afternoon when you can avoid the line. Single rider passes and parent swap passes are also available, just ask the Cast Member at the front. The ride “takes place” in the Forbidden Temple where famous archeologist, Indiana jones, helps guide your’ ride, making sure you make it to the end. Visitors MUST NOT look into the eyes of the temple's idol, Mara, or an ancient curse will befall them.
