Tiki Juice Bar (aka where they sell Dole whips!)

Disneyland is only complete with some snack stops. Right in front of the Enchanted Tiki Room at the entrance of Adventureland, is one of my must have snacks stop while at the park, the Dole whip! The line can get long depending on the day (so go inside the Tiki Room courtyard for a second line that’s much shorter!), but definitely get one.

The Pineapple Dole whip, is soft, airy, pineapple soft serve. The float, has the same soft serve as the whip but with pineapple juice. Pineapple spears and juice and Dole fruit bowls are also sold here. People go crazy to get their Dole whip, and once you've experienced it's goodness, you will too!

Jedi Training Academy

Welcome young Padawans! This live-action show, behind Buzz’s AstroBlaster across from Autopia, children from the audience can experience becoming a Jedi. Complete with brown robes and light sabers, trainees learn the sacred Jedi Oath and ancient battle techniques from a Jedi Master! The show would not be complete with having to fight off a force of Stormtroopers led by Darth Vadar (or Darth Maul). Can your skills fight them off? May the force be with you! Children between 4 to 12 will be the best targets to be chosen for participation. If you have a little Star Wars fan with you, definitely check out the entertainment schedule when you enter the park. Every time I see this show happening, the kids look like they are having a blast!

Ride Profile: Indiana Jones

One of the most exciting rides at Disneyland is based from the popular movies Indiana Jones!  Opening in 1995, after being under construction for 7 years and costing Disney about $100 million! The ride can be found between Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Carrabin. Since it is a crowd pleaser, the line can get very long, so I highly recommend getting FASTPASS and coming back to the ride later in the afternoon when you can avoid the line. Single rider passes and parent swap passes are also available, just ask the Cast Member at the front. The ride “takes place” in the Forbidden Temple where famous archeologist, Indiana jones, helps guide your’ ride, making sure you make it to the end. Visitors MUST NOT look into the eyes of the temple's idol, Mara, or an ancient curse will befall them. The ride moves through foreboding caverns adorned with flickering lights, mysterious wall etchings, ominous spikes, even-more ominous skeletons, and other diversions! On th...

Is It Crowded?

As an annual pass holder, I generally plan my trips to the park when I know it will not be crowded. Sounds like a good plan right?!? There are times when my friends and I go to Disneyland completely spontaneously, but even on those trips its nice to know whether Disneyland or California Adventure is the better park to start in. One way I figure this out is by wait times. In both the Apple and Android store, there are apps that you can download to see frequently updates wait times for all the rides in the park. In addition, it shows rides that are closed for the day, so you don’t waste your time walking all the way to the ride just to be disappointed. However, if you do not have a smart phone, the wait times for rides can be found at the end of Main Street at the kiosk. The other way I look at optimal park days is by sites that research crowd patterns. Luckily for us, they do the research and statistics for us, and we can figure out the best days to go! The web...
